What led Trish to their career in counseling?

Trisha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She completed her undergraduate work at Eagle Gate College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She completed her graduate education, earning a master’s degree in social work from Utah State University.

What work experience and populations does Trish serve?

Trisha started working in the social work field over 12 years ago when she was given an opportunity to work with children and families in crisis. This experience, along with life experience, helped her develop a passion for supporting children, adults, and families through difficult times. She soon realized her passion and calling in life to help others. Trisha has always had a love for connecting with people which led to her becoming a therapist (LCSW).

Trisha has worked in multiple therapeutic and clinical settings as a social worker/therapist and has enjoyed the knowledge and experience gained from those settings. Trisha has professional experience with children and families in crisis, inpatient adult psychiatrics in a hospital setting, outpatient addiction and recovery, and working with individuals, couples, and families in private practice therapy.

What areas does Trish specialize in?

As a military wife, Trisha finds joy in working with first responders (and their spouses), those involved with the military lifestyle, as well as working with other individuals and couples.

Trisha specializes in anxiety disorders, depression, addiction issues, self-esteem & self-worth issues, marital conflict, PTSD, trauma, grief and loss, and spiritual issues.

Trisha has training as a Clinical Military Counselor. She has also been trained in DBT, Trauma Focused CBT, CBT, and the Gottman Method. She believes in tailoring treatment to the specific needs of her clients as she draws from different evidence-based therapeutic techniques and practices.

What techniques do I use to achieve positive mental health:

I honor myself by practicing what I preach! I make it a priority to check in with myself each day and utilize the therapeutic tools that I work on with clients to achieve daily in my own life. I practice mindfulness techniques to bring me back to the present and slow myself down when life gets busy. Some of my favorite means of self-care are taking my dogs Cashe and Kylo for a walk, listening to podcasts, yoga, or just sleeping in.

My hobbies, interests, and fun facts about me:

Traveling is my love language. I enjoy trips to Disneyland, going on cruises, or just a nice overnight in Lava Hot Springs. It refuels my soul! I love family dinners on Sundays and beating my husband and kids at Mario Kart. I’m new to (enjoying) camping and can’t wait for summertime when we can explore new places.

A fun fact about me is I enjoy learning. I enjoy listening to podcasts about mental health, addiction, and marriage. I also have a list of recommended self-help and therapy books and love reading them and learning new things!

My therapeutic approach and philosophy:

My therapeutic approach is built around evidence-based techniques and practices that align with cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all and upon meeting with you, we discuss the best road map for therapy success moving forward.
