Susan began her professional journey in education, earning a secondary teaching certificate in English and history from the University of Utah. Her experience working both in the school system and multiple church auxiliary programs has sparked a passion for helping individuals of all ages thrive in their environments. This led her to pursue a Master of Social Work at the University of Kentucky, where she continues to build on her commitment to advocacy and healing.
Susan brings experience working with youth and young adults across educational, religious, and mentoring settings. With a foundation in education, she has discovered a passion for guiding students through both academic and personal challenges. She enjoys supporting individuals who are exploring identity, overcoming adversity, or seeking emotional connection. Though her graduate training is in social work, Susan is expanding her ability to provide trauma-informed, holistic care. She’s especially drawn to populations in need of empathy, advocacy, and a safe space to be seen.
Susan helps people navigate anxiety, depression, grief, loss, life transitions, and religious concerns.Drawing on elements of CBT, she supports clients in identifying unhelpful patterns and building practical tools for change, all within a safe, supportive space where healing can begin.
I stay grounded by connecting with others through meaningful social interactions, spending time in nature, and continuing my education. Backcountry hiking helps me reset, it’s where I find clarity in the quiet. Learning keeps me curious and growing, while healthy connection reminds me that I’m not alone. Together, these practices help me feel centered and ready to show up with intention and care.
I love high adrenaline activities. The year typically starts with Moab rock-crawling and off-roading into the back country trails. Nothing is better than watching my 5 kids (6 if you count my husband) conquer a new challenging trail or obstacle in our old 1999 stick shift Toyota 4Runner! We also love Supercross motocross racing and never miss the opportunity to go watch the finals at the University of Utah stadium in the spring. Supercross transitions us into summer boating season and going to the lake a few times per week. I love watching my family wakeboard, surf, slalom ski and have knee board crash competitions. The mountains are another fantastic outlet. I love getting lost (just not too lost). Whether it’s hiking, exploring, or just breathing in the views, these adventures hit my reset button finding fun and relief from the daily pressures of life.
