Is Amy Miller accepting new patients?
Amy has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in clinical mental health counseling. Seeing the need for positive social change in her community and understanding the dire need for mental health professionals across our society led her to the career path of a CMHC.
Amy has experience helping children, teens, and adults with their mental and emotional health. Amy enjoys working with adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, mood and personality disorders, and childhood and general issues.
Amy specializes in anxiety, mood and personality disorders, teen and childhood difficulties, couples counseling, and general difficulties such as motivation, self-esteem, coping strategies, and more.
Techniques that have helped me achieve positive mental health is attending counseling. I remind myself to take a break when I feel I’m in a negative mental state and manage stress by bringing awareness to the present moment.
I love anything that keeps me active and outside! That includes running, hiking, camping, and going to the gym. I enjoy reading and listening to podcasts in my free time. My current favorite read is the Harry Potter series!
I have a mix of a cognitive and humanistic approach to counseling. My philosophy is to allow my clients to direct our sessions as we dive into the correlation of how their thoughts can affect their behaviors. My goal is to guide clients to transform negative thoughts into positive perspectives to achieve their maximum potential.
