What lead Brad to his career in mental health counseling?

Brad was a corporate sales and consulting executive for over 20 years.  He worked with a brilliant psychologist who ran personal development workshops, such as public speaking and relationship courses, and volunteered to be his assistant in many life-changing processes. This sparked a passion for therapeutic work with couples and families.  Brad then went to Weber State University, where he earned a bachelor’s in psychology, and then to Abilene Christian University in Dallas, TX, where he is working on a master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy.

What work experience and populations does Brad serve?

Brad’s primary specialty is in couples counseling. He also works with families and individuals (ages 14+).

What areas does Brad specialize in?

Brad specializes in experiencing relationship dysfunction, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, PTSD, panic disorder, depression, all varieties of trauma, LDS issues, spiritual issues, self-esteem and shame issues, and veteran’s issues among others.

What techniques do I use to achieve my own positive mental health?

With the help of some excellent therapists, I have overcome severe social anxiety disorder, PTSD, and clinical depression. Today, I have the skills to live a very happy life free of anxiety and other symptoms.  I practice mindfulness and other types of meditation.  I have an amazing marriage and I surround myself with postitive people.

My hobbies, interests, and fun facts about me:

I love traveling and spending time with my best friend, who I married in 2016.  I love playing volleyball and weightlifting with my daughter, who is also former military.  I have 7 children.  I graduated from Weber State University at the same time as my two youngest.

My therapeutic approach and philosophy:

“I believe that your marriage/partnership can and should be the best thing that ever happens to you.  For some, it might sometimes feel like the worst.  My passion is helping couples discover the amazing friendship that can be created from this partnership.  I also believe that trauma, anxieties, and depression are states that don’t have to be permanent.  As someone who has claimed victory over some of these issues in my own life, I want everyone to experience freedom from these conditions.”
