Carey’s ability to help others dissect a problem and then piece together a roadmap through the individual’s strengths is a tool he has used many times to help others throughout his life. He often approaches others by identifying their strengths and helping them identify ‘options’. His all-time favorite saying is, “You have to know your options and then work from there”. He approaches therapy with each client based on the client’s strengths and experiences to guide them to a better self. He believes that a person’s ability, intelligence, and management of their life can be developed through practice, perseverance, dedication, and motivation. We can all come from a place of acceptance of ourselves while practicing our improvement.
Carey has a Bachelor of Science in management, and a Master of Business Administration and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling! And tons of life experience.
Carey recently retired after nearly thirty years working for a major transportation company with the business development group. His experience working with numerous businesses in Utah and the surrounding western states impacted the growth of many businesses. He enjoyed not only assisting businesses with their growth but also the development of numerous employees.
Carey has served in many leadership positions within his religious and church experiences while living in various places throughout the world. Carey’s ‘act two’ of his career is now working in the mental health field. Over the past 25 years, he has provided countless service hours to local mental health providers.
Carey enjoys work within the lifespan of adults who are seeking help with anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship complications, religious issues, life transitions, career transitions, life disappointments, adoption, relationship difficulties, and anger, as well as those seeking ways to find resiliency and move forward intentionally with life experiences.
