Curtis recently retired after 34 years in religious education, working with youth and young adults in the Wasatch Front and the Midwest. He also spent time working in youth corrections and as a contract provider for LDS Family Services. He enjoys working with youth and families. Over the years, Curtis has served in several leadership roles and positions in his religious organization. He has overseen youth programs and programs involving individuals and families.
Curtis enjoys working with youth and adults who are seeking help with anxiety, depression, relationship complications, religious issues, life transitions, career transitions, life disappointments, and relationship difficulties, as well as those seeking ways to find inner strength and resiliency to move forward with a more meaningful life.
Curtis uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a core modality but infuses a variety of other modalities in treatment, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and the Gottman method.
He believes that everyone deserves to be happy and enjoy life. For him, it has come as he spends time with family and friends. He has also found joy and fulfillment in his faith and when he is helping and serving others.
He believes that people are strong and have the ability and resiliency to do incredible things. Life is full of challenges that can be difficult to overcome. He desires to help individuals find or renew their strengths to overcome any challenge that they may face. He believes life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving; we get stronger and more resilient as we overcome the challenges we face.
