Curtis received his Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies from Weber State University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Utah.
Curtis recently retired after 34 years in religious education, working with youth and young adults on the Wasatch Front and in the Midwest. He also spent time working in youth corrections and as a contract provider for LDS Family Services. He enjoys working with youth and families.
Over the years Curtis has served in several leadership roles and positions in his religious organization. He has overseen youth programs and programs involving individuals and families.
I believe that everyone deserves to be happy and enjoy life. For me, this has come as I spend time with family and friends. I have also found joy and fulfillment in my faith and when I am helping and serving others.
I enjoy spending time with my wife, children, and grandchildren. I often have said to people that my hobbies and interests have been “whatever my kids are doing”. I enjoy sports, traveling, the outdoors and spending time at home relaxing. Over the years I have enjoyed coaching youth sports in competitive and non-competitive leagues.
I believe that people are strong and have the ability and resiliency to do incredible things. Life is full of challenges that can be difficult to overcome. It is my hope and desire to help individuals find or renew their strengths to overcome any challenge that they may face. Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving, but we get stronger and more resilient as we overcome the challenges we face. My therapeutic approach to mental health treatment is that every individual is deserving of respect and has a strong sense of self-worth. Everyone deserves a happy and meaningful life.
