Karina obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tampa. It was there that she gained a passion for working with couples and families. She is currently attending Capella University pursuing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Karina Fratus, AMFT’s preferred approach to therapy is solution-focused therapy. She enjoys the positive nature of therapy because she is naturally a more optimistic person. Karina Fratus, AMFT utilizes the Gottman Approach for relational clinical work.
Karina has spent many years of her life working as a behavior technician for kids with Autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. She enjoys working with people of all ages and cultures. Karina has worked with all different religions and backgrounds and is open to any lifestyle. As a military spouse, she understands the life events that come with life. She enjoys working with couples and families using solution-focused therapy.

Karina Fratus, AMFT has training in the Gottman Approach and enjoys relational work. Karina also has a clear understanding of family systems from her extensive work within the autism spectrum from her background working in an ABA setting. She looks forward to continued work within the psychotherapy profession.
To keep her mental health in a good place Karina Fratus, AMFT makes sure to allow herself time to do things that she loves. She makes sure to take time to just relax on the couch or read a good book. It is easy for her to take on too many things and not say no to people, so she has to be mindful when there is too much going on and she needs to say no. She tries to take some time at night to just reflect on how she is doing and if she has too much going on. When this happens, she just figures out how she can lessen her plate and relax a bit.
Karina Fratus, AMFT loves to spend a lot of time with her son and husband. She loves to go hiking and bike riding. She loves to do things with her dog and spoil him. In her free time she watches a lot of TV and crime documentaries. She is originally from Chicago, Illinois, went to college in Tampa, Florida, from there moved to Biloxi, Mississippi, and recently moved to Utah beginning of this year. Her husband is in the military and they have loved serving in many places in the USA and look forward to the future. She loves to travel and see so many different places and cultures.
