What do patients say about Mitch?
Mitchell “Mitch” started his educational journey getting a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University in Business Administration. In that career field he learned the value of communication and building strong relationships. Mitch has always had a knack for listening to, being patient with, and ultimately helping others. Thanks to his skills in communication and relationship building, as well as these qualities he already possessed, Mitch decided to go on for a dual Master’s degree in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Working in the business field for years and later making his way into an education profession, Mitch has always had a passion for helping people move forward, learn, and be the best they can be. He enjoys working with children, young adults, and men in life transitions.
Mitch’s master’s program prepared him in the field of CBT and DBT theories. He has more specific training towards young adults and teens since he has worked with them the longest. Mitchell has specific leadership training in working with the GenZ population.
To achieve my own positive mental health, I work hard to take time for myself when I feel it is needed. While I have a busy schedule, I find ways of filling my cup with the things I value like quality time with my family, watching or playing sports, and spending time outdoors. I have always tried to look at life optimistically; it is the adage of seeing the glass as fuller rather than empty. I believe having a positive attitude and outlook allows me to maintain positive mental health.
I am a big Philadelphia Eagles fan (Go Birds!) and love watching their games. I have converted my wife, son, and daughter to Philly Nation as well! I also enjoy playing any kind of sport. I love taking on projects, specifically those that have to do with wood working. I enjoy spending time with my family every day and am always up for an adventure!
My therapeutic approach is very personalized to each individual client. I prefer a person-centered theory because it allows the client to do their own work around different struggles or issues that may arise. I believe that we are all capable of learning new habits that can help us answer our own difficult questions. I enjoy working with others to explore those questions and build better habits for the future.
