My hobbies, interests, and fun facts about me:
My therapeutic approach and philosophy:
Rieley’s interest in psychology began in high school. As an avid member of her high-school debate team, observing others, finding mutual solutions and taking into account multiple perspectives became an intuitive skill. When this knowledge easily blended with Psychology, a clear career path became visible, leading to a bachelor’s in psychology. Further down the line, she became interested in ethics, helping others and supporting people who face the hardships, joys and intricate details of everyday life, leading her to pursue a career in Social Work.
Rieley has been working as a mentor for students and in the communications field for the past ten years, allowing her to hone in on communication and critical thinking skills, and giving her the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life. She enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ population and individuals experiencing faith transition or crisis, relational issues or concerns, and individuals struggling with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, tic disorders, and/or OCD.
Rieley specializes in LGBTQ+ issues, religion and spirituality, perfectionism, manipulative and/or dysfunctional relationships and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, tic disorders and OCD.
As a recovering perfectionist, protecting my mental health has taken practice. I’m a giver at heart, so it’s important that I take time to fill my cup on a daily basis. This has given me the opportunity to live out a go-getter, helper, call-me-if-you-need-anything lifestyle, while balancing internal peace – giving me space to show up for myself and those closest to me.
I’m a bit of a hobby enthusiast, and every month or so my brain gets the itch to try something new. Thanks to that itch, I like rock climbing, hiking, weightlifting, painting, redoing furniture, sewing, training my dogs, cooking and the list goes on. One of my long-term hobbies is learning the art of Muay Thai, which I’ve been successfully doing for the past four years. I’m a big believer that focus of the body can help focus of the mind. I love having physical outlets that help my mental health – two-in-one!
“My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in a holistic view of health, and an understanding of how the brain, emotions, and surrounding systems influence one another. I focus on building upon your strengths in the present, while also exploring the experiences and influences that have shaped you. My goal is to help you deepen your self-understanding, equip you with practical skills and resources to move from where you are now to where you want to be, and support you in connecting with self. This is your journey – I’m just here to help you navigate it.”
